DukaHuru runs a mentorship programme for entrepreneurs. To run it, we keep some information about you and your business. This page says what we keep, why, who sees it and what you can ask of us, under the Personal Data Protection Act 2022.
What we keep
- Your name, gender, date of birth, region and district, and your national ID number if you give it.
- Your phone number and email, to sign you in and send you reminders.
- Your business: its name, sector, registration and the numbers you report, such as sales, costs and customers.
- Your programme record: attendance, tasks and hand-ins, updates, goals, notes from your mentor and your scores.
- Payments you make to us, such as the registration fee.
Why we keep it
To run the programme, follow your progress, help you with the right next step, and report on the programme's results. Reports to partners use totals, never your name.
Who sees it
DukaHuru programme staff and your mentor. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone else without your permission, unless the law requires it. Companies that work for us see only what they need: our SMS provider sees your phone number and the message, and our mobile money provider sees your payment.
How long we keep it
While you are in the programme, and for 5 years after you leave. After that your personal details are erased and only anonymous figures remain.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it erased once you leave the programme. Write to info@dukahuru.co.tz or call +255 769 598 404.
Tips and news
If you sign up on this website, we keep your email address or phone number to send you business tips and news of the next intakes, a few times a month. Ask us to stop at any time and we delete it.
How we protect it
Your phone number and ID number are stored encrypted, only people with an account can sign in, and changes to your record are logged.
